BMC Bikes
BMC or BMC Switzerland AG, stands for “Bicycle Manufacturing Company.” Need there be more said than that? As it is with many bicycle brands, BMC has an interesting history: Bob Bigelow, an American, founded BMC in 1986. Headquartered in Grenchen, Solothurn, Switzerland, BMC was a niche brand until 2001 when BMC shifted their strategy, turning to greater investment in engineering and design. Consequently, in 2001 BMC began their own carbon production and created the Impec road bike. Having their own carbon production facility heavily influenced BMC’s approach to manufacturing which, indeed, helped launch Cadel Evans to his 2011 Tour De France win. Today, BMC is well known for their superb carbon bikes and their racing prowess in all facets of cycling including mountain, track, time trial, road, and gravel biking and racing.
BMC Road Bikes
The three road bike models offered by BMC are the Teammachine SLR and Teammachine ALR (all-rounder); the Timemachine (aero); and the Roadmachine (endurance). BMC’s top-of-the-line models have a “01” after their model name. Keep an eye out for their new flagship road bike, which evolved from their popular road models, the BMC Masterpiece built with Campagnolo Super Record.
BMC Gravel Bikes
As with BMC’s road bicycles, their gravel lineup is as impressive with many models and complete bike builds. The URS and Kaius are available mostly with their stunning carbon fiber frames as well as BMC’s more affordable AL aluminum frames. Either way, BMC gravel is outfitting riders all over the globe.
BMC Mountain Bikes
With names like Fourstroke and Twostroke it’s plain to see BMC mountain bikes are built to handle rugged mountain trails riding or racing mountain bikes. The front and rear suspension Fourstoke and front suspension only Twostroke hardtails and lighter LT, and electric pedal-assist AMP models, offer a wide variety of performance cross country racing mountain bikes and trail bikes with next-level kinematics and tuning options.
BMC Time Trial / Triathlon
What could be better than a ride on an actual Timemachine? Checking in on your legs and lungs racing against time on a BMC aero bike helps you reach speeds you never thought attainable. The technologically advanced carbon fiber modulus in the weaves BMC creates offer relentless refinement, extensive integration, and superior rider positioning that confirm the Timemachine’s benchmark status racing to the finish line on a Timemachine 01 Disc ONE or a Timemachine 01 Disc TWO.
